Deep Tissue Massage In London
All our sensual massage sessions contain elements of deep tissue massage.
So let us tell exactly what this style of massage therapy is...
Deep tissue massage is a technique that involves applying slow strokes to reach the deeper layers of muscle and fascia.
Although some of the strokes are similar to those used in Swedish massage, it is not the same as a full body massage with the addition of applied deep pressure.
Deep tissue massage is often incorporated into the beginning of a sensual massage because it can physically break down muscle knots, and therefore improve circulation and the range of movement.
The more relaxed your body feels, the greater your sensual enjoyment will be.
What To Expect
At the start of a sensual massage you may feel lighter pressure applied, to warm up the muscles. Specific techniques like stripping and friction will follow.
• Stripping – deep strokes that glide along the length of the muscle
• Friction - pressure applied across the grain of the muscle
The masseuse may use her fingertips, knuckles, hands, elbows, and forearms, and she may ask you to breathe deeply as she works on tightly knotted, tense areas.
The Benefits Of Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage can help to ease chronic muscle pain in contracted areas such as a stiff neck, upper and lower back, and shoulders. It can also improve posture, aid recovery from sport concerns and repetitive strain, and is also beneficial for injury rehabilitation.
If you've had recent surgery or chemotherapy, or have deep vein thrombosis or osteoporosis, deep tissue massage may not be safe for you. Always consult your doctor first.
